Developing Healthy
Human-Soil-Plant Relationships
through Goethean Science

August 6 - 9 at Sun Heart Farm

Rebuilding relationships between humans beings, living soil, and the plant world is crucial for healing the earth, renewing the foundations of nutrition, and creating a caring social life.

Join us to:

  • Develop new ways to observe, perceive, think, and relate with plants and soil in lively conversation

  • Practice interest, gratitude, and wonder to open yourself to greater experience and knowledge

  • Integrate this practice into your work and care for the earth in agriculture and beyond

  • Share space and social time with striving colleagues

  • Learn to know yourself more deeply and to more fully bring forward your gifts

In this workshop we will explore the human being’s unique responsibility in creating a healing agriculture in a context that is increasingly challenged by reductionist, materialistic viewpoints. Biodynamics focuses on fostering healthy relationships in all aspects of our lives; with the natural world, within social life, and with ourselves. Goethean science, a practice that integrates the rigor and empiricism of natural science with artistic perception and living thinking, forms the foundations of Biodynamics. Through practicing Goethean science we may develop greater wholeness in our capacities to perceive and serve the life of the earth and humanity.

Through presentations, conversation, exercises, artistic activities, and practical work, we will strive to more fully know, experience, and participate co-creatively in agriculture. We will also share pioneering and innovative approaches in biodynamic agriculture to help us bring forward the gifts of our plant, animal, soil, and human communities towards creating a nourishing and healthy community of life.

This workshop is designed for anyone participating in or interested in deepening their relationship to and understanding of agriculture: farmers, gardeners, and homesteaders, teachers, food system and non-profit workers, activists, parents, caregivers, community members, and eaters. No prior experience is needed, just an openness and willingness to engage together.

This is also the opening workshop for the Foundations of Biodynamic Agriculture Year-Long Course. More information on the course is on the Sun Heart Farm School for Spiritual Agriculture site.
